2008 Samboree Roman Holidays is well underway!!! 

     Labor Day Weekend, Friday August 29 to Monday, September 1, 2008 

     Marshall/Putnam Fairground - Henry IL 

     Registration forms with details are available on this website or by contacting the treasurer.

     Wear your toga with sandals and bring your "pet" lion. 

     You may see Chariot Races, Rig Decorating, Costume Parade, Pet Show. 

     Any suggestion contact the director.

 

Happy 40th Anniversary to Fox River Valley Sams! Way to go!! 

    Stop by their special site at the Samboree and wish them well. 

     Something special is in the planning stage.

     Contact any president listed on the Web or the State Director. 

     Don't be discouraged by the President's address, a large geographical area is covered.

 

State Meetings! Everyone is invited!! 

    First: April 18, 19, 20 at Iroquois County Fairground, Crescent City, IL. 

     Hosted by Prairie State Sams.

 

    Second: July 18, 19, 20 at Sportsman Club Campground, Mahomet, IL. 

     Hosted by Chamco Sams

 

    Third: October 10,11,12, Emerald Acres Campground, Pearl City, IL. 

     Hosted by Blackhawk Sams and Stagecoach Sams.

 

Each Meeting: Reminders are sent about 6 weeks in advance. 

     Morning time: opens with coffee/donuts for everyone 

     Cracker Barrel: Open to anyone - discuss your ideas, thoughts, suggestion - yes even complaints - 

     Officer Executive Meeting: their chance to discuss ideas, progress of Samboree. This is where such things as Staff wearing identical shirts is decided. 

No State Votes are made at either of these morning meetings.

 

    1:00 P.M. State Committee Meeting is held. 

     Chapter Presidents are encouraged to attend. 

     This is where the serious discussions are held and decisions are made. 

     Remember only Chapter Presidents or their delegates are permitted to vote.
